R2-53 : THRILLER PROJECT 2007/8

start of a poem idea

If only you knew how much I loved you,
The things i would have done,
just to hear you say- I love you too.
You were the only one
Why did you have to be so blind?
How could you not have noticed me?
The games you played with my mind.
I can't stand knowing we will never be.

I would have done anything.

Love poems possibly for use in the book

THE END OF THE LOVE OF MY LIFE
We knew it was real
This love that we share
You made me feel
Like there was someone to care
Then I made a mistake
That ruined it all
An error to make
A never ending fall
The ground never comes
As we continue to descend
Our hearts have broken into crumbs
And it was me who brought our end
As always, I will continue
To try again and again to break our fall
But you cannot trust me now
Not a little, not at all

LIEZ
I have it cut in my leg...
I have it written on me so that everyone can see you
cheated me and for that my heart can't hardly breathe, you
did me wrong as if are relationship was a stupid love song
but because of you everyone is going to get to know the
real me

What lies beneath

this is a good example of a supernatural take on thrillers- this could be a possible direction for us to take for our final idea (supernatural-ghosts and murder).

Opening sequence to 'The Ring'

The Ring

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NmU8JQJgJc

Although the sound track is actually from The Ring 2 on this example, you still get a very good idea on the atmosphere that can be created- simply just by the music. The eery music sets the scene- providing an insight as to what the film is about. It creates tention and mood. You know something bad will happen.

The sequence itself gives just enough detail away to keep you watching and wanting more. Its mainly shot in black and white/grey which reflects a bleek atmosphere (no cheery bright colours, in most of it). The images are flashing ones (snippets) and tell a rough guideline to the plot- without giving to much away. The sequence is quite creepy and the titles flash in and out as though loosing electricity- makes it more scary and fits in with the scenes portrayed.

All of this is worth remembering for our own title sequence... Don't give too much away!!

Analysing a students thriller project

Trapped -

The setting was eary by the weather and made it even spookier as it was a natural setting.
Sepia effects were used to make the shots look more like a thrille and lets the audience know what sort of genre the film is.

Camera shots were varied making it interesting to watch, some of these included, piont of view, arial shot and wide shots etc.

The music reflected the type of genre and the atmospheric ideals of a thriller. Running through woods alone adds the element of fear becuase the setting is familiar it makes it more relatable to the viewers adding tension and suspence.

The titles were made less effective as they werent bold and were unclear to see. The font type was white which is seen as a pure colour however in thrillers its more commen to use red or black as this is more suitable to the idea of a thriler.
